MLC6.5 TCU in an AR?
Has anyone rebarreled their AR for 6.5TCU?
From my research they are used by pistol silhouette shooters primarily. I began thinking about building a dedicated upper after I heard about the military trying out a 6.8x45 cartridge to replace the 5.56x45 in some aspects.
For my purposes I thought that the 6.5 120 grain Nosler ballistic tips, BC of .458!, would be a whole lotta fun out of an AR. I hoped I could get about 2600fps out of a 20" barrel. That would give me,within a few inches, the same trajectory as the 55grain FMJ 223 round, just a hair flatter than the 62 grain fmj.
I think this conversion would make the AR a viable deer and antelope rifle.
Does anyone have any data on the 6.5 TCU out of a 20" barrel?

Ridge Runnerdon't know why it won't work, saw lots of guys with 17 rem., 20 tactical, and 6x47? I think it is. For small deer and antelope where its legal, fed. loads a 60 gr. nosler partition, also win's 64 gr PP was designed with hunting whitetails with the 223 in mind. The TCU should work well in the package. Personaly I have taken many, (around 75-100 probably) with the 223 with good results. Wouldn't try a big northern brute with it though.
