<ranb>15 or 17 grain .172 bullets in the 17MK4
I can get about 4000 fps using the hornady 20 grain bullets in my 17MK4 contender. I was wondering how the Burger MEF 15 or 17 grain bullets perform. Anyone try them? Thanks.

sscoyoteDon't know about those lightweights. I've gone the opposite direction with my 17" XP M.IV. I'm getting about 34-3500 out of the various 29-30 grainers with H4198. My rig has a 4.5-14X Simmons with a Stoney Point turret, and have done some good out occasionally beyond 500 yds. with it on pr. dogs.

<Crow>Berger doesn't list 17 gr bullets, but they do have 18 grainers and they shoot very well out of 3 different Mach IV's. Two of the M 4's have a, well, "generous" leade, and the jump is excessive, but they still shoot well. Have shot a couple of GH's with them, countless crows, all have expired therewith...........

montdougI called Berger and talked to Walt Berger on what he recomended in the MachIV. His recommendation was something around 22gr, that was in the Cooper I shoot.---Shoot Safe---montdoug
