Sauer 150Re: Kimber "Montana" in .260?
I have shot quite a few full 308 loads in a Montana lately without ever thinking about the recoil. The straight, high comb stock combined with a very soft and thick recoil pad takes the edge of.
If I where you I would not worry about it.

cobradI also have a Montana in .243 and have found recoil to feel surprisingly mild in this ultralight rifle. I think you would be pleased with the rifle. The only problem with mine is it has caused me to want another in a larger caliber. I agree with savage99, the factory bases are less than impressive and I now wish I had gone with the Talley bases and rings instead. If you buy one, I have a set of bases and Burris Signature rings I would sell cheap!
