22 K Hornet build
So I have a gorgeous TC Contender (old style, not G2) that I am going to build into a 22 K Hornet.

High Plains Gunstocks will make a custom stock and forearm and I spoke with MGM about a barrel.

Question for everyone: Barrel length and twist rate?

I would like to keep the barrel as short as I can as I want to use my suppressor on it but I dont want to sacrifice accuracy..

I have a standard hornet in a Ruger 77/22 but I am not sure what twist the barrel is...

Use a cleaning rod with tight fitting jag to measure the twist of your Ruger Hornet.

I’d cut the barrel at about 20ā€, and have a twist suitable for 40 grain bullets, which is what I shoot in my 22 hornets. I think that would be a 1:14ā€ twist.

I've shortened my 22 Hornet to 18", accuracy was the same as with 20". If you want to go as short as possible then maybe even 16.5" Personally I've never went shorter than 18" on my 22 rifles
