Steyr Pro Hunter screw tension
I have an early model Steyr ProHunter SBS with the dreaded ezi break grey synthetic stock that has done the seemingly inevitable and cracked behind the safety wheel.

Whilst I have obtained a replacement reinforced black factory stock I've yet to swap them over thanks to remembering reading something about the bolts having to be tightened to a specific tension, and not being able to find this information again.

Does anyone know what the recommended tension is, or can point me to any info?

I can call Steyr-Mannlicher/Merkel America on Tuesday for you they are back east.

They have a captive German buchsenmacher that works there. I'll ask his advice.

Mialls or whoever is the current Steyr importer in Oz should be able to tell you on Monday.

Monday is a bank holiday in America. So by the time you get this it will be early Wednesday morning Aussie time.

I am also going to send an email to a friend of mine that is a salesman for Steyr in Austria.

Give it a few days and I'll have your answer.

Remington 700 is 65 inch pounds if that helps.

The Steyr sales rep in Austria sent me an email. He is going to ask his gunsmiths, but he is out of the country on a sales trip.
