Have a boat load of 243
I have about 1000rnds of 243 reloads. Haven't been woodchuck hunting in years and it's slim pickin's now.

Need a Fun Gun suggestion. Anyone got an AR in 243?

I have an AR10 in 260. Simple as pie to swap around to any 308 based cartridges.

PTR made some 91 clones in .243. Primary advantage is $1 mags.

If you think a bolt .243 can be considered "fun" try a Ruger RPR. They are silly accurate.

Look for an AR10, .308 is of course most common but there are a few out there in .243, if not buy the .308 and look for an upper in .243, 30 second swap.
Or if you get a .308 AR10 just order a .243 barrel, real easy swap maybe an hour with the right punches and pin holders.
Fun way to do it too, you get to know the weapon real well after you've disassembled one.

I second the American. Heat it up, drag it through hell, paddle the boat with it. All the stuff you always wanted to do with a "nice" rifle but couldn't - and still hit what you're shooting at. Just don't wreck your optics shame I started out not liking the Americans, but my abusive side has warmed.

An AR would be fun, but my son just picked up a Ruger American in 243.

Very impressed with it so far. Shoots fantastic. The barrel cleaned very easy, looks great through a borescope. We cleaned it all the way down to bare metal and applied Dura bore coat. Have not had time to shoot some curing shots and clean, but expect it to be even better.

Trigger is great. Fantastic value rifle.

Hmph- interesting rifle by Henry there- price point is a little higher than what I would expect, but still interesting!
