BighornBreath257 Wby and Nosler BT's
Has anyone had experience with the 257 Weatherby and 115 grain Ballistic Tips? What was the performance on game and what loads and speed are you getting? Thanks in advance.

LWDFactory loaded 115 BTips is the only thing a good friend uses in his .257 Wby. I've been surprised by the results too. I'd assumed---apparently wrongly---that that bullet would be too soft for that velocity. But he's gotten great results on whitetail deer and pigs. Doesn't always get an exit wound but the stuff he shoots in the lungs doesn't go very far.

df06Not waht you asked, but I use 100 grain BTs in my 257 wby
I have shot half dozen antelope and one mule deer. All died very fast. All were broad side or nearly broadside behind the shoulder shots.
I would not want to us that bullet on raking shots.

DJMFactory and Reloaded BT's differ in construction as the factory load ones have a canulre and IMHE are much more prone to failure.
In the 25-06 I drive the 115gr BT at around 3250 and find them to be a great deer round
