FasteelRem 260 with 120gr
Boys I bought a bunch of 6.5 Speers in 120 grain and I was wondering if any of you have a load that you might like to tell me about. I was thinking of using Varget.
Thanks Greg

260encoreRem cases, CCI 200's, 46 grains of Reloader 19 shoots very, very good in my 260. I have killed a bunch of deer, turkeys and an antelope with that combo.
No flies on the Speer 120 at all.

Bobby TomekWith the Speer 120, 45 grains H4350 did extremely well for me. But so did 40 grains of Re-15.

Super Bon BonWell, I use the 120 gr Sierra instead of the Speer, but RE 19 works well for me also.

30378Give Varget a try. You should find a sweet spot between 40 and 41 grains.

MeatHuntaI can't get the Speer 120s to shoot well in my rifle. It loves Nosler 120 BTs though (40.0 grains Benchmark 2950 fps). Corelokts are much more effective on deer, but not as accurate. 46.5 grains of H414 works well to for over 2900 fps. It's over the book max, but is mild in my rifle - work up carefully.

FasteelThanks for all the suggestions. The rifle that I will be shooting these rounds in is my Tikka Varmint in 260 Rem, with a quite large Leupold 6.5-20x50 on top so I'm thinking I won't be hunting with this rifle, just practicing at the range. I know some will suggest a different bullet for using at the range but I got a screaming deal on a tobacco tin full of 120 Speers in 6.5. FS

Dr. LouWhen I had a 260, my custom Sako liked 120 NBTs and RL-19. Lou
