dustinztxNew quarter bore (25-06). Loads needed?
Hi all I am new to the forum and reloading. If someone could help me, I am looking for a load for my new custom 25-06. I would like to find out what everyone is using in the range of 100 gr. TSX with RL22? I contacted Barnes and they recommended using the X-Bullet data but my manual only shows X-bullets at 95 gr.? Particularly what I am looking for is starting powder charge and Max charge?
I would also appreciate any data on the 110 gr. Accubond also?
Thanks,

vapodoguse the data for the 95 grain bullet in lieu of the 100 grain bullet. They're close enough to use roughly the same amount of powder.....

Bigdog2Don't be shy---Feel free to buy a couple more reloading books or use the powder & slug manufacturer's websites.
I use H-4831sc in my 25-06 and lately have been loading the longer Nosler 115gr Ballistic Tip.
Is the Barnes TSX a hunting or varmint slug? I've been looking for a lighter constructed varmint round in 100gr. Everyone seems to make heavier constructed Hunting slugs.
Good luck

Thomas JonesI think the 100 grain barnes tripple shock in a 25,06 should work well with RL-22. My first loads will be with that combination and also withe the same powder and Noslers 110 grain accubond. My Barnes manual showes 55 grains as a max with the standard X bullet.

BigNateWhile I have yet to load this combo myself it sounds to me like a good bet. I have loaded the 100gr. X in the Roberts and a 115gr. XLC in the .25-06 both with good results. As for data, there's plenty on the 'net, just be cautious as some loads are not within book specs. Get an idea what would be ok by the book and then compare this to the 'net loads.
Steve's pages are a good source of reliable data. Just remember each rifle can be it's own animal. Nate
