beretta96henry golden boy 17 HMR
A co-worker just bought a Henry Golden Boy in 17 HMR. It's a sharp looking lever with bucknorn sites. He wants to install a scope and the shop he bought it from does not recommend this because the receiver is "plated" with something of gold appearance, brass perhaps.
Safety isn't the issue here, but appearance.
I've never heard of it, but is there a manufacturer who makes a "gold" plated base and ring set? At least this way he could have the best of both worlds.
If someone has a better idea please feel free to share.

Hot CoreThe actual Henry Scope Base I've seen, "Cantilevers" over the action and attaches out on the Barrel. No idea if anyone else makes one for them or not. Take a close look at their ads and you might be able to spot it. It is very clear in their Catalog.
I suppose you could get a Gun Smith Base, have it Custom Contoured to fit and have it Brass Plated.

beretta96well you saved him a rifle. he was definitely going to put a scope on it and have it drilled and tapped.

Hot CoreYour welcome. I have an old MARINE buddy that is also interested in them. I spotted one of the Henry Catalogs in a Gun Shop and picked it up, or I would not have known.
Best of luck to your buddy.
