SLS660 Remington 6.5
Found a 660 Remington in 6.5 Rem mag. it has a 20" McGowen barrel with an syntetic stock. The gun looks well used but in good working order. The asking price is $379. Does that sound like a good price?

260remguy$379 "sounds" like a fair price if it fits you and you want it. In nice condition, the barreled action should be worth $350+/- by itself and the stock will be valued according to who made it. If it is a Ramline, very little vale, but if it is a McM or HTS, more value. Does it have the original plastic trigger-guard floorplate assembly or no floorplate and a trigger-guard for a Remington 700 ADL? Both the McM and HTS stocks use the 700 ADL trigger-guard in lieu of the factory plastic thing.

BigNateIf it's what your after, yes.
I had been wanting a 600 or 660 in .308 for a long time. I bought the first one I had a chance at for $250 an it isn't in good shape. Nate

SLSThanks for the replies. I didn't know that about the trigger gaurd and floor plate. My daughter was with me and in a big hurry to leave. It had a trigger lock on it so the bolt would not release. I would like to go take another look at it. I will check the trigger gaurd and see if they will let me take a look down the barrel.

I do not know if you have ever hunted with bolt actioned rifles with 18 to 20" bbls. I have used them in 223,243,308,350RM, and 375 H&H.
They are very handy.

I'd be very tempted...

RJMI hunted this year with a M600 with the 18.5" barrel and it was a joy to hunt with in heavy cover. The factory 120 grain loads chronographed at 2930 fps I believe so out of the longer barrel you may hit 3100 fps.
