Hi folks,

actually I shoot in my .243 Steyr PH the 100 grs. Nosler Partition with great success, even up to really big red stag.

I now intend to try something new and consider the 85 grs. TSX as a good alternative. I often read that solids push a caliber up into the next higher caliber class......don't know wheter it's true or not....

What is your experience with that combination and which loads are you using? What is your oppinion regarding performance on shooting larger game wiht it? Any input is highly appreciated...

My 243 wssm loves the 85 tsx and H4350!
I have not had a cahnce to use it on deer yet but it will get a work out this fall.

I am just starting with the .243, and that bullet is definatly on the agenda. I shot a small mule deer last year wirh a 100 grain tsx in .257 Roberts. It was excelent.
I would think the 85 grain .6mm version would be great especially for antilope...tj3006

I have loaded the 6mm TXS in my 243 and with 38gr of rl 15 they shoot a inch at 200 yards. I have only shot one coyote with it and the yote looked like it was touched by death when it was hit. The exit wound was about the sixe of a ping pong ball. Im going to try it durning the up coming deer season

Yes, I've used the 85 gr. Nosler Parition with great success in several .243's. Used to use IMR4350 but I'm now using VV N560 with a charge that is way over what the books say but my Blaser barrel is digesting the loads just fine.

Three shot groups look like one large .243" hole and Roe Deer die like they got hit by a death ray with very little meat damage. For smallish Deer I cannot imagine a better .243 Win. bullet than the Nosler 85 gr. Partition.

My son and I used the 85 grain TSX over 41.5 grains of IMR 4350 on Grants Gazelle and Impala in Tanzania last week. Worked very well on both. Broadside shot passed through the Grants. Quartering shot on the Impala entered the lower neck, passed through the body and ended up under the hide behind the far shoulder. The recovered bullet looked like it could be used for a Barnes ad. Four perfect petals folded back to the solid shank. This load gives me 2800 fps out of my 20" barrelled M70 compact and shoots MOA.

Check your insurance covers fire damage, if not don't touch one off from the prone position in dry conditions

Dry conditions & prone? This is the Fatherland where most shots are taken at altitude; 7-10 meters, anyway.......and rain is normally every hour weather (pun) you want it or not......
