500MagMan.264 Polygonal rifling ???
I was wondering if anyone out AR land has used a Polygonal rifled barrel before ? I was planning on ordering a 27” Remington sender couture with a 1-8” twist rate. I will not be shooting cast bullets.. Just wondering if any one has used one and how well it worked for them…

seafire/B17GI've got one, that is made by Pac Nor..
I bought it from John Noveske here in town.. he recommended it as it will extend the life of an AR barrel substantially... so I went with it..
but it still has a long way from being worn out.. even by regular specs..
I have built several 600-1000 yd. rifles using Schneider 5P barrels. Some were 6mm, 6.5mm and 308. All have performed very well. None have been used with cast bullets.

500MagManmore or less I am doing it to have a barrel that can handle thousands upon thousands of rounds thru it with out burning out the throat ... I will use the gun for target shooting but as well it will come with me on hunts as well if I really like it I will have a barrel made up the same way for my 300 Weatherby mag and my 308 Win ...
Sounds like a good thing to me. I'm thinking about getting a Schneider 5p tube for my 7mmRM. PacNor says they don't feel their poly tubes are as accurate as their conventional ones.....Schneider says PacNor tried to copy his reamer and didn't quite get it right.
My goal would be an accurate barrel for hunting with long life for lots of range shooting....
I'd love to hear from anyone who's had a 7mm poly barrel in terms of accuracy/velocity/life. If it isn't worth doing I'll look at the 5R or something.
Good Luck,
Dan
"copied his reamer"? Did you mean button?
Sorry Doc, "button" is what I meant.....
