323Ruger I goofed up not RSI but RS 25-06
How many of you have ever seen a 25-06 in a Ruger with open sights it is the Liberty Model and it is the Round Top to. Also this gunshop had a 5 digit 700 BDL in a 270 and it was a carbine with a 18 1/2 inch barrel.

I had one in .243.....bought it new and it had a terrible way of stock warping. I couldn't keep it bedded because of the constant change of the wood. I sold it finally.
I was dearly impressed with Ruger stamping "made in the 200th year of American Liberty" on the barrel. This was an unadvertised move on their part. Sadly this has done little to nothing to mark any collectors value or any value above the norm for Ruger 77s.
Apparantly other shooters didn't value this as much as I did.

323My mistake it is not the RSI it is a RS. I have never seen a ruger 25-06 with open sights. I have seen them in 270, 7mag, 30-06, 300 win mag, 338 and on up. But not one in a 25-06. I'm really intersted in it but the horror stories I have heard about the older ones on how they are hit and miss with there accuracy.

Super Bon BonWell, my brother's R77 in 2506 is a sure hit. Though it does not have the open sights/round top, it will shoot along with my 77 MkII V/T in the same caliber- with a Weaver 4x scope.

VarmintGuy323: I have seen these Rifles with the open sights in caliber 25/06. I know they were only made for a while. My good friend Tom owns a 257 Roberts with the open sight feature. Tom has had this Rifle for 30+ years that I know of.
And if I recall correctly these Rifles with the open sights had somewhat heavier barrels than the more common sightless 77's.
Hold into the wind
