seafire2a local acquaintence has done that with a A & B and also in a couple of other calibers with A & Bs and ER Shaws.. he has had real good luck with both...
I think Roger Bartsche here also did a barrel in 257.. but I can't remember if it was a Roberts or a 250 Savage...

Paul HI have one A&B barrel, accuracy is quite good but the bore is rough and requires quite a bit of elbow grease to get it clean.
Personally if I'm going to pay someone to cut a nice chamber and properly install a new barrel, I'll put the extra money into a higher quality tube.

The AB barrels can be hit or miss. A 22-250 I have does a nice pattern for a shot gun. A .308 heavy does ok sometimes under moa sometimes not.A .35 wehlen converted to a .358 x.404 IMP does rather well. The 25 caliber that Sea Fire speaks of is a 250-3000 Shaw barrel on a Mod 200 Syevens and it is a charmer. Now this is after all the triggers have had a lot of work. If you are looking for a AB barrel to be used on a hunting rifle out to 250 yds. or so my experience indicates it would be OK.

montdougNot sure what they cost but I'm a huge fan of Pac-Nor 3 groove barrels. I have about 8 of em and haven't had a clunker yet knock wood.
