Snapper223 AI or Tact20 ?
I'm having my 223 AI'd tomarrow. Is this a good idea or should I have gone the rebarrel route and picked up a Tact20 or 19/223. I'm looking at 40 grain bullets out of these guns.
Any 223 AI loads out there that work well?
Thanks for the help!

Dog-dusterPersonally I am very pleased with having the Ai conversion done on my .223. haven't shot any loads on paper other than the cheap 55 gr PSPs (just under moa at 200 yd) that I used for fireforming but the vel advantage over standard .223 was pretty amazing. I got a 50 gr Blitzking to go 4050 in a 26" tube with 30 gr. of 335. It was a hot day so I would tone it down a little next time as I had 2 stuck cases and one primer fall out.

I brought it down to 28 gr and still get in the mid 3800 range with a 50 grainer and not so hot. When I shoot some paper with it I'd be happy to pass along some better info. I would also choose the .223 from the bullet selection standpoint too. JMO

SnapperI shot the 223AI this morning. WOW! Fireforming with factory Win loads was great. The factory 45 gr loads at 3600 fps grouped under .5 and I have not split any necks yet.
Picked the gun up on Friday. My gunsmith set back the barrel and reamed the new chamber on Sat. and started shooting on Sunday. A new personal record for me.
I've got some 50 grain TnT bullets around here somewhere and enough powder to get started on coyote loads. I would like to try some 40 gr Vmax as well. (Right now Mark is saying "hey, what about the Noslers"?) I will try those as well
Mark, we didn't get any tags yet. Did you pick up any tags? What about your big bear? Any luck or should we go after him next spring? I'm saving up for that hunt.
