Just wondering if anyone else loads for this round? I have a Vanguard S2 and just getting it ready for deer season. So far, got Nosler 95gr CT shooting pretty good but always looking to improve Smiler

My 240 likes the 95 gr Nosler BT .It is quite explosive @ 240 velocities so I use the 95 gr partition if I use the 240 on deer. I would also like to try the 80 gr Barnes TTSX bullet.

Agree on the 90 Scirocco, also love the 85 grain Partition and really prefer and love the 85 grain Barnes. I have also been impressed with the Sierra 85 grain BTHP Gameking even at 240 speed they have killed some pretty big deer with acceptable meat damage and great penetration. Best .243 cup and core in my opinion.

The 85gr Gameking has a good reputation here in Oz too

I have the same rifle as you do and I shoot the Berger 95gr VLD Hunting bullet.

Thanks for the replies. What powders have you been using? So far, I have tried H4831 and IMR7828. Was thinking of trying RL25.

You can pretty much select your favorite velocity node by selecting a powder which is applicable in the .240 WBY.

I use Re-25, 7828SSC, VVN-560, Magpro, MRP for top velocities. But I can step down a tad and use cooler burning powders for longer barrel life and slower velocities. IE; VVN-165, Ramshot Magnum and of all things Hybrid 100V.

This is all predicated on the Berger 105 grain VLD Hunter bullet. The Scirocco and Partition are the best SP available of course, probably the best all around bullet to choose.

I am also using the 6mm Crusader in a Defiance XM action which allows for an OAL of 3.2" when necessary. The Crusader chamber is 3.1" so it fits nicely. But then so will the Weatherby at 3.1" or 3.2" depending on your needs.

Got some promising loads. Going to load some more with the TSX and run them over the chrono.
