thanks for the help i too have been thinking of using a soft point cartridge for deer and a bonded or barnes x bullet for bigger

My personal choice would be the Nosler Partition, I believe Federal loads it in the 115 grain loading, and that should work out nicely on bigger animals. The plastic tips are only good for soft shots, like in the neck, or between ribs.
I'll be picking up my new 25-06 this weekend, but I'll be using some 100grain Remington soft-points, deer in my area are too skinny to use anything else.

You 25/06 shooters shoot the same bullets I shoot in my 257 WBY Mag. I don't have any problems with any of the bullets for the 25/06 in my rifle.
