BRNO .22 Hornet Groove Diameter???
I just picked up a BRNO ZKW-465 in .22 HORNET. I am going to reload for it and wasn't sure if I needed to use .223 or .224 diameter bullets or if it even mattered.

Thanks

. . . is likely the answer. A .224" bullet will easily swage down only one one-thousandths of an inch if the gun has the smaller bore(many "standard" bores are two or three thousandths smaller than standard bullets). Similarly, .223" bullets often shoot just fine in a bore that is nominally .001" larger.

Buy some bullets and shoot them. There will probably be differences in how your gun "likes" various brands, weights, and ogives of bullets with those factors probably outweighing the difference in diameters.

Mine loves the .224 35 V-Max or 40 Nosler BT and use LiL Gun powder and save yourself lots of trouble! Great shooter, and excellent rifle as a collector.

That's the second time that .308SAKO has posted a picture of that rifle. If he does it just one more time, I won't be able to help myself and will have to find out where he keeps it and hire a burglar to snag it for me.

Thanks for the compliments gentlemen.

Stonecreek, I could always will it to you, but you'd be about fortieth in line.

I've used both sizes in older Hornets and newer ones. I've found it to be 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other.

308Sako,

What scope do you have on your Brno?

Thanks

2.5 x 8 Leupold in older Sako rings which were modified by recoil on a .375 knocking off the little tit which went into the rear bridge. My luck on that one. The "hornets" recoil is not an issue with these mounts.
