Cartridge Interchangeability
Hello to all,
Is there a place on the web that shows cartridge interchangeability? Like a 38 S&W being interchangeable with the 38 New Police from Colt. I need HELP. Especially with the 32 S&W long and regular and the 32 Colt and 32 Colt Long. Thanks in advance

I don't know if its on the web or not, but I have the 1999 Remington catalogue and in the ammo section, there is a chart that lists alot of cartridge interchanges. They are all pistol rounds, as I think they are the only ones that will interchange.
It states that the 32 Colt's (long or short) will not interchange with the 32 S&W's.
I don't know if I would take this as Gospel, but thats what it says.
Hope this helps.

Glennc, I recall that the .32 S&W Long is interchangable with the .32 Colt NEW POLICE, but NOT with the .32 Colt short or .32 Colt long. Also can be fired in a .32 S&W Long chamber is the .32 S&W. Technically they're not "interchangable", since you can't put the long in the .32S&W chamber.

I believe there's an interchangeability chart in the "Cartridges of the World" book... let me know if there are other calibers you have questions about and I'll look them up in my copy.

Thank you all gentlemen,
I have the 32S&W and the 38S&W. Nice firearms, expensive ammo. Must take up reloading. Take Care...
