DSHRe: 25.06 Info
From all the posting you can see the 25-06 is very popular and a very good round. I have shot the 25-06 for several years and received a 25-06 from my father as my first deer gun. My father being a gun smith and a competition shooter. I shoot a 25-06 in long range competition (common wealth) those ranges are 300, 500, 600 yards, and it is very accurate. If you reload you have bullet wts. from 75 to 120 grain to work with and some very good powders. For competition I use a Rem 700 Sendero which has a 26 inch barrel. I use winchester brass, Vit. N-160 powder 50 grs. and sierra 100 gr HP match king bullet. With this load zeroed at 100 yards is still flat a 300 yards and at 500 I ajust 7 MOA and at 600 11 MOA (3260 FPS). It is a great round for varmit to deer.

Ray-MarineI will be picking one up in the morning to bring her home. It is a ruger old style 77. Can't wait to shoot her. It already has a 6x18x40 scope on it. Coyotes beware.
thanks all for the info

Ray-MarineAll I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!! This gun does a number on coyotes. I had to go and buy some rounds for it and they only had 120gr Remington core-lokt. ($19.99 per box) Expensive but well worth the show. 25# coyote never had a chance. Completly clean in side his body. All of his insides were on the outside. I like it. I can't belive what this rifle did

. I also can't wait to go back out tonight and do this again. One shot to sight in and 2 shots to hit a pespi can at over 450yrds. It totaly blew the can in half. I think that it does more damage at 200yrds than 100yrds. Now does anyone have a good load for 85gr silver balistic tip boat tail bullets?? I am using varget powder. My rifle is a ruger m77 with a 24" barrel. Thanks in advance and for all of the info.
Thanks
Ray
