JustC6.5-06 improved loads
Well,.she is finished and sits at home. My Sako actioned, 26" PacNor 1:8 twisted rig in 6.5-06AI is ready for some accuracy work-up. I plan on using 140gr a-max and 142gr SMK's. Anyone have a good load or a nice slow powder they have had good luck with?

CanuckMy pet load in my 6.5 Gibbs is:
140gr Sierra Gameking
57gr RL 22
Fed 210 primer
I get just over 3000 fps, and nice little dime size groups. It is max in my rifle, so work up to it.
Cheers,
Canuck

ramrod340Canuck,
You are a rare breed that has even heard of the 6.5Gibbs. What length barrel are you running? Reason I ask is I have a 24" 6.5-06 barrel sitting in my closet. I love something different. So I was thinking of going with the Imp or Gibbs(if I can find a reamer) What are your thoughts?

I haven't been using the 140 grain bullets in my 6.5-06 (standard), I have been using 120 Sierras. Accuracy has been outstanding, I have been getting 3200 fps with IMR 4831, and 3100fps with RL 22. Just some info for you.
Good Luck
Jerry

TSJI havent used 140's in my Gibbs, a 27" Lilja barreled rem 700. The 120's and Re 22 or Norma MRP will run them out the barrel at 3500 Fps. accuracy is better down at 3450 so thats where I leave it.
