Anyone built one? How does it perform?
I have a 300 WSM in a Model 70 Coyote with what FN/Winchester called at the time a "controlled round - push feed. I was thinking this might be a good setup for a short action 9.3.
Would have slightly more case capacity and should feed good. My 300 wsm has no feeding issues, nor does my 270 wsm in a standard CRF M-70 for that matter.
Thought about a thinner (than original) barrel around 22" long and a synthetic stock.
The 9.3 X WSM should be =\> than the original X 62 case.

Any thoughts?

I have one made up on a Mod. 70 Classic action. It was a 7 WSM orig. Lother Walther SS barrel- 25 "( without brake) and a muzzle brake added.
I have only loaded 250 gr. Accubonds-COAL of 3.019- 67.5-Varget-HBN coating-.060 off lands-Russian primer-WW case.Muzzle vel. -2840-Es-24.This load is safe in my gun, please start low and work up if you choose to try it.The COAL about .100 shorter than the magazine will accept.

The barrel profile is the lightest one that you can get in SS. The twist is 1-12.The scope is a Pentex 4.5-14 with BDC reticle. Weight is 9 lb. 2 oz. all-up, no ammo.

The trej. with this bullet is like a 180 30 cal. from an 06 so it is definetly not just a short range round.

Ray, it would be in my sitution since I was thinking of a "switch barrel" with my current 300 WSM M-70 CRF- PF Coyote.

I think Roedale in Germany built a 9.3 WSM.

The 9.3 B&M is actually based on the RUM case, and a tad longer than the WSM case, at 2.240 inches. This series of B&Ms are based on the Winchester M70 WSM actions. The 9.3 comes standard barrel length of 20 inches.

That it would under your circumstances and can you imagine what a 9.3xWSM with a 320 gr. woodleigh would do to moose or bear at probably close to 2700 FPS or even a Cape Buffalo and with a solid would make good elephant medicine..It would be a killer..

I have Charlie Sisk's rifle in 9.3 BS. He and John Barsness wanted a 9.3 Short Mag, and decided on using a 350 Rem Mag case opened to 9.3, leaving the shoulder where it was. Barsness has an article on it. They built one for Charlie on a Model 70 short-action, and one for John on a Rem 700. Ballistics were about the same as the great 9.3x62, and accuracy was outstanding in John's write-up. Redding makes dies in 9.3 BS, and brass can be ordered from Midway...or just use an expander ball to open up 350 Rem Mag brass.

I have Charlie's gun for sale now at $2,100...not bad for a custom priced at $5,600.
