ShortandFatInformation on the 224 Stark (224/ 44Rem Mad
Gents
I have a little Ruger 77/44 that has seen better days and was thinking of get a new 44 barrel from Ruger and rebarelling it.
Before I did I was wondering what wildcats I could chamber for based on the 44 case.
Now you have to keep in mind the Ruger 77/44 has a rotary magazine with a maximum length of 1.680 no more so no long bullets
Can anybody out there give me some details or an email contact on the 224 Stark, actually if you can go at low as 224 why not even 204 ?
Secondly is it a big deal to neck a case down this far, do any of you wildcatters neck any cases down this far ?
Any suggestions ?
regards

theback40357/44 B&D would be another. I would want to try a 22 stark for feeding before I went to the work of coverting the rifle. The B&D would feed fine I'm sure, heck I even have a reamer you can use if you go that route.

Stryker60Ross Seyfried did an article for Guns & Ammo about his 17/44 Martini. I think he annealed the necks and used several form dies to reduce the necks that much. It can be done, if you want to badly enough.
