jeffeossonot for nothing, but it looks like they "copied" the 500 AR !!!
no ballastics on the norma page, but listed in the norma catalog, as well as a 375! oh boy, if the luddits didn't like the 375 ruger, they are going to HATE the 375 lapua

Hi Steffen-9,3,
don´t think it´s a .416Rigby...this has been don some years ago named .300Phenix and wasn´t a sucsess....
To get a 338Lapua performance it has to be a case like the Lapua (stronger web) with a higher max.allowed pressure.
A .375 would be a better idea....it´s a way better balance of case-capacity to bullet-Diam.

new norma magnums
in all probability, we will continue extending the norma familiy with three new calibers: 300, 338 and 375 norma magnum.
the latest trend in big game cartridges is short, fat, belt-less magnum cases.
the new norma magnums will be based on the 416 rigby but with a longer case than most of the new american "short magnums".
as a consequence, the new norma magnums will have higher velocities and energy than the american competitors, but still fit normal length action.
this is from page 35 in this norma catalogue
http://www.norma.cc/content.as...ny=1&Rubrik=Downloadthese cartridges are dead before they are released.

2RECONFound some Info on
www.6mmbr.comLooks like it is 2.49" long, and with a 20,5° Shoulder.....poor design
Nothing different than a .338Lapua shortened to fit a .30-06 size action .....ok, with the problem of a real big boltface-diam....

jeffeossosame shoulder as the 500 jeffery and the 500 AR.. nothing wrong with that, and it feeds well...
boltface? fits mauser, enfields rugers, and CZ... who needs anything else?

GanyanaWith the new Bofors powders and the Ake designed bullets it delivers exactly the same trajectory as the .338 Lapua but from a round that fits into a standard action.
Black Hills stock the cases in the USA and Clymer the reamers. As Norma is ared from producing ammunition for military use, you will probably get loaded ammo from RUAG as well.

boom stickWell el Jeffe whoever sells these guns they will be great candidates for the 500 AR! just a rebarrel and make it recoil proof.
Also they did not do a 458 so a shorter version of the 458 BS will be easy just neck up the 375 norma to 458. 458-375 Norma or 458 BS 2.5" I think they just made the 458 BS an easy conversion now

The 458 2.65" 338 lapua or 458 BS will have the edge though.
