bartscheCompanion -Woodjack's 240 WM wildcat
In 2003 This wildcat was going to be born but never happened. It's stimulous was a Boddinton article on the sloping 300 h&h magnum.
The idea was to start with a .270 case . These are reamear dimensions.
bolt face dia = .4703"
From bolt face to shoulder- .800" at a diameter of -.450"
bolt face to shoulder minor dia. .860" with a dia. of .400"
From the bolt face to the start of the neck 2.060" with a dia. of .295"
From the bolt face to the case end 2.560" with a dia. of .292".
Throat length =.240"
This would yield a long necked gentle sloping case, using an 06 styled case with a shoulder being used similar to a belt, that would fall right on the heals of the .260 as far as perfomance but geared for the heavier bullets.
May do it yet as a single shot Mauser. roger
