gohip200060 BMG or 70 BMG
Just wondering if anyone has wildcatted the 50 BMG to a larger caliber?

wookie76There are a few out there. They don't really make much sense rationally; they definitely fall into the labor of love category.
700 HubelAnd in today's political climate there could be destructive device ATF problems with using BMG donor brass.

drewhenrytntI believe Robgunbuilder has worked up a couple monsters on the BMG case. PM him for details.

Huh, I didn't realize the Hubble Exress was based of the 50bmg. cool. I figured it may be an impracticable way to go about a big bore.

lostchild1The USAF had .60cal based on the .50bmg case. Forgot what year, but I found some cases in ".60bmg" at an air base (in the late 60's/early 70's). An eod guy told me that they were .60 and not .50 cal. So I guess that a .60bmg would not really be a wildcat. not trying to stir the pot but I have held (and still have somewhere ) a .60bmg case. thanks lost

GrandpasezYep, On bmg brass I have three 700HEs... A 3.25" one,
a 3.87" one. and a 4.27" one.
Last gets 1000gr to 3400.
I also have experimental one, 4.3" long from a Hispano-Suiza
20mm case that'll do 1000 gr to 3800 or more.Ed
