7 X41 story
ConfusedMy wildcat 7 X 41 shot the 120gr. bullets really poorly(2 1/2" at 50 yds.) for the last 24 yrs. In an effort to prove out starting loads with Blue Dot for one of our cohorts using a 7BR, I for the firet time in this rifle loaded some reduced loads with Blue Dot.

At substantially reduced velocities these same 120gr. bullets were sub MOA.

The realhooker is that this rifle is chambered with a throat that allows the 175gr. bullets to be seated out to almost their full length. For the 120 gr. bullets that's a long way to go before it hits the rifling.

Can we draw the conclusion that distance of bullet travel to the rifling is less critical with lower pressures or faster burning powders.

Any thoughts on this??? bewilderedroger
