ConRe: .17 rimfire wildcats
From Australia, Arthur Langsford (Myra Sports Store) in the 70's produced the .17 Minor Mite, .17 Vixen and .17 Tini Mite. Can't remember exactly which were which, but base cases were primed .22 ratshot cases (.17MM, .17TM) and I believe the 22 magnum case (.17 Vixen). Also was the .17 Extruder, that fired a .22 rimfire in a swage barrel to .17. Arthur (I believe) spoke to Ruger regarding chambering the .17 Extruder in the 10/22 and 77/22, but nothing came of it
Cheers...

Ive been trying to get a web site or e mail address for Bill Eichelberger. Do you know of either?
Also, tried the search you suggested (Extreme Small Caliber in Wildcats Forum) and got negative answer. I would like to read this thread. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Godsdogcaptnemo,
I have some 17 HMR cases with the Federal Headstamp from about 1990 from my Squirrel shooting friend Gene Harwood (now deceased) who designed the 17 Mag. Rimfire, had a reamer cut for it and reloading tools built for it and Steve Chernicky built the first rifle for it on a Marlin 22 Mag Bolt action rifle. The first loads were with 18, 22, & 25 gr. bullets made by Gene and they had a muzzle velocity of just over 3000 fps. They tried to get Federal Cartridge to go Commercial with the round but they wouldn't do it. I killed Coyotes with those rounds out to 300 yds with one shot hits. It was a fur takers dream cartridge. A bit light for Yotes at the 300 yd. range though.Godsdog.
