Re: 222-1/2
Once again, won't stake my life on it but believe it to be an improved version of the .222 Rem.

Somewhere in my travels, I remember reading about a wildcat called the 222-1/2.

Do any of you know what that was?

The 222 1/2 is a 222 Rem with .100 inch longer case body. This is accomplished by using a 222 Rem Mag case sized in a 222 Rem Die after trimming to .100 Inches longer than the original 222 Rem. It was an easy way to give the 222 a little more capacity using the standard 222 Rem reamer and running it in another .1 inch.

This chamber was used some in the 70's when I was shooting benchrest. I had one that shot some good groups for that time period.
