tj3006-I'm working on my first wildcat. It's a 270 Gibbs. See the post right below yours. It looks like it's going to shoot real good. It holds a little more powder than the 270 Ackley but is more trouble to fireform and it's got a real short neck. I don't know yet if the short neck will be a problem. If I don't like it I'm going to try a 270-338 Win. Mag. Pac-nor has barrels chambered in 270 Gibbs and 270-338 Win. Mag. A friend of mine has a 270 Ackley with a 24" barrel. He shoots 130gr bullets 3060fps with 61.5gr of H4831. My old Sako 270 Win. with a 24" barrel shoots 130gr bullets 3117fps with 60gr of H4831 (same chronograph). That's the reason I'm trying the 270 Gibbs.
