Re: 257 Roberts AI for deer?
I've used the 250-3000, 250 AI, Bob, and Bob AI on many-a-whitetail and a few black bears, with drop-them-in-their-tracks results each time. Good luck.

What do you guys feel about the 257ackley for whitetails? I'm thinking something in the 100 to 117 grain bullet? Anyone have any experience with this cartridge in a hunting sense. I know I could just go with a 25/06, but this will be in a T/C encore, and I want a rimmed cartridge. I will be "wildcating" 444 marlin brass for the 257AI.
Thanks

It's great. A good 117-120gr bullet at about 3000fps is deadly, low recoiling, and very effective.

Great deer cartridge. With the right bullet it will take deer out as far as you can shoot them.
