Hi, recent posts on this and other bb's suggests that the 358 WIn is experiencing a lot of interest - maybe even a resurgence. Got me to thinking (Uh Oh,as my boy would say - dad's having a seizure!). IF the 303 Brit isn't all that far behind a 308 win, then a 35 based on the 303 brit shooould be kind of dandy? Put it into the ugly but very fast and slick SMLE action, maybe with a Jungle Carbine config, would make a GREAT brush gun, especially for pigs. Anyone got any thoughts, or should I just go and take another green pill, lie down for a while until it all passes over?

not to be snotty, but most of us need to buy and read ackley reloader's handbook....

from the 50s, and all but the wsm line are in there, including some of jd jones' copyrighted "inventions".... (read: copied)

Roger that! Also, note that Ken Waters wrote up the .375 Express (on the .444) a year or 2 before JDJ brought out "his" .375.

I think you are on the right track and maybe someone not being snooty can tell you who has the reamer and will do the job or rent the reamer. [Wink]

This may not be apples to apples but I never saw a .303 jungle carbine that had even reasonable accuracy. I read an article or two about that ,but I forgot the explanation. [Confused] [Wink]

The split reciever on the Enfield is not known as a extra strong design, and this limits its use as high pressure cartridge reciever. But it does very well with some , such as the 25-303 Epps. Another good book to read, besides the "Old Master"Ackley, is "Cartridges of the World".
