Does it exisist a .30 or 7 mm wildcat on x64 Brenneke case?

JediDoes it exisist a .30 or 7 mm wildcat on x64 Brenneke case?
I own a M98 rifle in the fine 9.3x64 Brenneke.
I have for a long time been searching for a "wildcat-project" on the x68S case, but have "overlooked" the very fine x64 Brenneke case ...
Does anybody know of wildcat-designs for .30 cal or 7mm on this case?
(does anybody have data or experiences to share?).

JediWhat kind of performance could be expected compared to 300 Win.Mag or 7mm Rem.Mag.???
Is wildcatting with basis in this case worth it?
(- besides "getting rid of the belt"...
Arnold Arms have stated that a fireformed belted case gives "better" headspacing than a non-belted).

carcano91Yes, such a Spanish 8mm exists (and Lutz Moeller's 8,5 x 64), and both have been mentioned here in the past.

jeffeossoIf I remember correctly, the black nosler reloading manual has loads for them both, and a 6.5???
they are the equilivant more or less of the 7 mag and 300 win.
that is, of course, if i remember correctly

carcano91No, Jeffe, it hasn't.
The closest German equivalent to a 7mm cartridge on a fatter case (like the 9,3x64 diameters) would be the 7x66mm Super Express vom Hofe, but that's a factory round.

JediCarcano91 - do you know anything more about the 7mm Super Express Vom Hofe? Some german site said that this was a "slightly larger diameter 7mm than the american standard" - is this true?
- Who loads for this round? RWS? ...
The case is 2mm longer than the x64 ... Is it possible to form brass from x64? (- Does these 2 mm get realized through necking down and fireforming?).

Performance is almost equal to the smaller 7mm Rem Mag, the latter even being a bit superior with some bullets. The 7x66mm SEvH from 1955 is just a lot mor expensive and feeds on more propellant, but does not yield more performance.

Its CIP bore dimensions are exactly the same as the 7x57 and 7x64 - which indeed means, *different* from the US "7mm" standards.

Proprietary by Gehmann. I do not know who actually fills the cases.

Nope. Base of the 7x64 is far too small. The 7x66mm SEvH uses a rebated case with R1=13,00 mm, P1=13,85 mm, P2=12,70mm.
The only possible cartridge for reforrming (with immense work) might be the .404 Riml NE.

carcano91Jeffe: yes, but these cartridges don't have anything to do with the question asked by Jedi.

carcano91Jeffe: I am right, you are wrong, but it's all the original question's fault and merit, not ours

.
Jedi asked about the 9,3x64 case, which he saw (quite reasonably so) as a good base for wildcatting. His fault was the use of an uncalled-for ellipsis "x64", which language use makes no sense except for leading some readers astray from his intention. Because: the 7x64 and 8x64 Brenneke are built on an altogether different case than the 9,3x64.
