Got two-both my creations(bet someone else did these up before, tho) 6mm super short swift-the 220 swift case shortened, so the capacity is the same as the 6mm PPC-real work doing the resizing, and 20% loss. But the base fits the std bolt face. The other is a 243 case, sized in a shortened 244 AI die, so the neck is the same length as the 244 AI. Better brass available(Lapua), and the longer neck should make for better barrel life. Serious neck turning involved, but not much trouble otherwise. Use this one for my scope rifle in long range matches-fired a 197 with 12x once at 1000 yds-the points dropped were from me holding too long, not the rifle.

22-284 Win
22-378 Wby-Ackley 35-degree shoulder (hate them stinking venturi curve shoulders)
Yessssssssssssssssssss, I said 22-378. Talk about a barrel burner
219 Donaldson Wasp on an early post-war mauser w/double set triggers. Most voluptuous stock you have ever seen, in the baroque style.
25-35 Improved. A custom rifle on a Borchardt by A W Sukalle of Phoenix 60 years ago
still shoots under 1/2" at 100yds.
257 Banshee. 257X6.5 by 68S. Blown out, shoots 110gr VLDs at nearly 4000fps.
38 Ballard extra long (357 max) Pope false muzzled barrel on a Stevens 44 1/2. Schuetzen rifle.

Rich

Hey, Sharpshooter, thanks for reminding me! I also shoot a 38 extra long-built a schuetzen rifle on a Win Lo Wall, chambered it for 357 Max-same cart. as 38 Ballard, and the easiest chambering reamer to make yourself. Couldn't get rid of the vertical spread on 100 yd groups on my cast bullet loads.

What a 22-204 ???? isn't the parent cartridge of the 204 a 222 magnum?

Yes the parent case of the 204 is the 222Rem Mag. You have to think 22-204 as 222 Rem Mag IMPROVED the 204 shoulder is 30degrees and moved forward and the body has been slightly straightenned. It makes a nice wildcat, it's a straight neckup with no fire forming, it will match 223AI ballistics and has a great selection of brass. Even reloading dies are a piece of cake the Redding 204 FL "S" die can be used to load with by rlieving the neck openning and changing the bushing and expander.
