odd .22 can any one id
This is a rimmed centrefire 22 the measurements are
col 0.868
case length 0.580
rim .350
body .296
shoulder .283
bullet .222
it has a lead bullet like a rimfire
does anyone know what it is?

The case head & rim diameter is correct for a wildcat on the .22 Hornet case. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, a lot of such wildcats were invented in shortened .22 Hornet form to enable Colt single Actions and similar pistols to be chambered for them. Christie Gun Works in the Central Valley of California did a whole lot of them on both Colts and Great Westerns.

I can't find dimensions for it on the internet, but it sounds like a version of the .22 Short Snapper, a sibling of the .22 Long Snapper. But there is no telling what moniker some 'catter hung on the one you have.
