You are not suggesting using the 9.3X74 rimmed to make 405 Win cases. The base diameters are different.

I agree with you you though about the benefits of a 30 caliber 9.3X74R wildcat. There are a few already. The case capacity for Norma 9.3X74 Rimmed cases is 85 grains of water. Necked down and blown out it would most likely only drop a few grains, yielding a capacity close the 308 Norma mag (about 10 - 12 grains shy of a 300 Win mag). Overall an excellent choice for a behemoth action like the Pattern 14.
