Rusty GunnRe: short 416 idea:
There are two simular rounds based on the Marlin case.
The first one ,a .416, was written up in some gun rag a few years ago, I'm thinking maybe Rifle/Handloader. I forget the name of this wildcat, too.
The next one is the 400 Yukon (.408), designed by John Anderson, aka El-John-O, originally designed for the lever gun, but also chambered in the designer's friend's turn bolt.
Obviously, these are very simular to the 416 American, but using differing belt lengths via different cases. ~~~Suluuq

DB BillTalked to John about doing this quite awhile ago and he found, because of the thickness of his brass, that there is not enough of a shoulder to provide proper headspace.
