35 or 375/45-70
Has anyone ever heard of of a 4570 being necked down to 375 or 35? Would it be able to function in a lever gun?

Winchester necked the 45/70 to .375 caliber in 1887 and called it the 38/56 Winchester.IT was loaded till about 1936.P.O. Ackley Improved it by increasing the shoulder angle to 40 degrees and reducing the body taper. It was never loaded to it's full potenial by the factory.
