I believe your .22/'06 Short would greatly outclass the .223, and would come close to equalling that .224 WSSM that just appeared - kinda similar, in a way!

i have a savage m-1899 rechambered from .22hp to .22hp/.30-30ai40deg. with the only difference being the bore dia. which is .228 instead of .224. i use .22/.30-30ai40deg. dies from redding. i use this gun for deer and load hornady's 70 gr.sp bullet over 32.6 gr. of imr 3031 for a velocity of 3125fps. this cartridge can be loaded 100 feet faster with this wt. bullet but out of respect for the rifles 1916 date of birth, i hold vel. at 3125. i make my cases by sizing .25-35 win. brass in .22 savage hp fl sizing die, anneal shoulder and then fireform.

I did that and found a multiplicity of sites. I find them so off-the-wall as to be just wacko-wacko. I clicked on the very top one: some idiocy about GWB, Karl Rove and Arnold Schwarzenegger being in the room when Hitler decided to found the Nazi Party and go kill all the Jews he could find. Pure wacko stuff... What do these people smoke?? What do they do in their "spare" time?? My God, these people are nuts!!
