Wondered about that, at least it wasn't just me missing the obvious.

I didn't fire this one myself but a local fellow who was interested in such things and had the shoulder to back him up put a few rounds through it...IIRC he reported that it launched a 250 at 3000+.....from a 24" barrel...
I was the local fellow. It was a LW rifle, be great for hunting, but kicked like a mule. Accurate and fast tho'. - dan

They should!! When I lived in Regina,Sask., Walt Abe used to have me trace and send him outline tracings of my Hollands, Rigbys, etc., stocks. He was not copying them directly, but was analysing them to learn how to proportion his own stocks to best advantage for both good looks and good shooting. So basically Walt's stocks are what he felt to be improvement of the big London makers wood designs.

35404Many moons ago we were drawing up the 35-404imp. we pretty much put a 35 bullet in a 338 imperial case. These cartridges strike a balance between capacity and bore size.
Nobby Uno did some work on this project as well as Aubrey White. Nobby still does some gunsmith work and lives on Van. Island. I talked with him awhile back. He is quite a character. He would recall the particulars of the Imperials. Good luck, Mark

olcripOl Bull, that is smokin for a 225 gr bullet. Did they leave a con-trail? What length barrel are you shootin? Have you ever tried IMR 5010? It's the predecessor to the Hogdon BMG. Shoots great in my 300 and 7 MM RUMs. I think the 338 Imperial might like it also! Have about 30# on hand.

We had us quit a storm July 21st, 94 MPH straight line winds recorded at the QC Airport, about a mile South of me. It tore up our neck of the woods pretty bad. I hear tell it went all the way to Chicago, 160 miles East of me. Tore my house up real decent. When I get the house caught up I can go back to the gun shop and finish a couple projects. One is the 338 Imperial, one is a 340 Weatherby and the 3rd if I can get to it before the snow flies Is my 375 Canadian (Imperial) Magnum. Have two DGRs to finish also. I'll be busy through the cold months. That's my passion next to my house repairs. Ain't even cold yet and I'm already looking forward to spring, it'll all be behind me by then.

Ol Bullolcrip, no con-trail...LOL....The barrel is a 27.5" Kreiger. If this load is consistant it'll be my load for the 225. This should be a great elk load!! Then it's on to the 250AB....Thanks Buddy

olcripOl Bull, I hope you don't mind my trying your recipe for the 225 Gr.

Sounds like a keeper to me. My barrels may not like the mix, only trial will tell. thanks for the update.

Good Luck to ya.
