9.3x375
I'm not a hand loader or have any idea how to create a wildcat, but here it goes. If it has not already been done before, could I use 375 brass necked down to .366 to create a 9.3x375. This is probably one of the other 9.3 configurations, but I got to have a cartridge thats all mine before I die. I think it would make for a nice elk gun maybe even a new minimum for cape buffalo.

Yeah, that figures. Since that didn't work, what about a 375 necked up to 404. I've got alot of ideas just no knowledge of what cartridges use what casings.

Actually I got an advice. Make a 9,3X68 and use the 8X68S as donor case. I have been thinking about this for a while. Give the cartridges 25 to 30 degrees shoulder and less taper.

There is a 9,3X70 based on the 404 case. It's an old cartridge brought back to life by Harald Wolf article.

A 375 of a 404 has already been made. Our dear host Saeed uses two rifles in this caliber. I have heard about a 9,3 based on the 300 wby, never seen one.

Roy,
the 375 Hawk is a 9.3x62 necked up to a 375 unless my memory has faultered....

A 9.3x375 would be a nice caliber but I can't see where it would be any improvment over the 375, in fact it would be less than a 375 with the same recoil...with a lot of other disadvantages...such as bullet availability, etc.

I am not sure why I would want a smaller bullet for more kick, that does seem rather pointless. I'm trying to come up with a cartridge that's all my own. Ideally I was hoping to find something in the 40 caliber range that could be used on anything, so I thought 375 necked up to 416, but that belongs to George Hoffman. I then thought of the 404, not stopping to remeber thats what Saeed uses. My knowledge of calibers is limited to what is written on a box. My other thoughts were to try to create my own wildcat that can use factory ammo when in a pinch, such as the 458 lott/win. mag. Does anyone have a website that can inform me on casing sizes. The last combo I was thinking about was something like using the 458 lott casings for a 460 bullet. I think it's back to the broiler room for me. Thanks for guys's help.

If the 9.3 wildcat is one you want to build you mite talk to Charlie Sisk, he has one thats on the 8mm mag case, looks to do the same as the x70 does

Folks ..as i am an fan of the 9.3xxxx and own a 9.3x64 ber/
And a 9.3x74 ..any new cases would warmly greeted by me
and that 375 case sounds good ..short but good ..

Why not shorten the 378 case down by say 1/2 inch and reneck it to 9.3 just a thought
