bartscheYes this things been beaten to death so one more lash ain't going to hurt (much). Before the gun nuts could communicate on the internet the magazines had all the sway. The rags either ho humed the 8mmX57mm, beat it into the dirt or just ignored it.Now that a lot of us are climbing out of our reloading closets and sharing our knowledge, theories, and opinions we are gaining much. Because of this, the abundance of mod.98s and the availability of inexpensive ammo the 8mmX57mm is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, and rightly so. It is a great classically designed cartridge. When reload ,as you would have to do with the 8mm06 anyway,it's in the field performance will duplicate that of the formitable 30-06. It has been used to bring down every big game specie on the American contenents.
I guess what i'm saying is" Don't change it"
and that from a wildcatter

358MarkSince your Parker Hale will be a regular length action I would recommend a 8mm. Gibbs. The only setback is the die cost. Mine were about $100, but if you already have a 30 gibbs then you know this. Mark
