<seven17>5 x 50 magnum
Does anyone know of anyone who has necked the 5.6 x 50 Mag down to 20 caliber? I have heard of the 222 Mag necked down and improved and the 20 BR as well as others, but not this one. I know there are cheaper ways to get a 20 wildcat but that isn't always the point. Seems like it should make a nice varmint round, even if its not better than the others.

I think that would be one hell of a good idea, i've got a 5.6x50R Bellm Mag, its a pushed forward blown out 5.6x50 that works super on a Contender frame and damn near gets 250 velocities. I can neck one down to .20 and send it to you to check out if you like? Ask Mike Bellm about the chambering questions!

<seven17>Interesting. The version I am refering to would be the rimless one that would fit the .223 boltface. Otherwise they are the same basic cartridge. Sounds like you get some good velocities though! It is not a real popular round in the US but it is impressive looking, unless you are into the new short/fat thing.
