Wildcats off the arisaka case ?
A frend of mine has a sporterized 7.7 Arisaka rifle. I as a hand loader took a good look at the case and realized I had never seen a wildcat based on it. It is an interesting case and It apears to me it would have a little more powder room than a .308 or mabye a little more than a 7X57. It has a prety sharp shoulder angle and almost looks like an improved mauser case, anybody played with the 7.7 or 6.5 Arisaka case ? ...tj3006

The case capacity is about half way between the 308 and 06. Same as the 7.62X54R. Most of the 6.5 and 7.7 rifles were rechambered to something like a 7.7-06 and 6.5Roberts. Brass was far easier to get. My first deer rifle was a sporterized 6.5. Used it for several years.

As usual just my $.02

The brass is too expensive, just use a 8x57 case for a wildcat.
