I love wildcats and experimentation but this one escapes me. I know, it's me...

it's been called the 30 American for a while now if your looking for a reamer.

the version I have been shooting is the 0-6 die cut off to fit my mauser based rifle.
simple re-form then turn the necks to fit the tighter chamber dimensions.
it's basically a 308 with @ 10% more case capacity on a medium length mauser action.
no adjustments needed for 100% feeding.

the 30x57 is just the 7 mauser necked up.
it will run with the 0-6 if built on a long action where the 308 cant with the heavier bullets.
but your on a long action so you might as well just chamber it for an 0-6.

Hi,

it´s not a .30" American.
New design, nearly cylindrical Casebody, 30° Shoulder, like 6PPC.
If you neckup a 7x57 you´ll get a Shorter Case.

Looks like a 7.65x53 in .308 instead of .312.....

call it what you want.
I will just keep shooting my 30 caliber 57mm long case rifles.
blown out with a 40* shoulder, or tapered like the 0-6 [shrug] pick one, I got both and the 7x57 necked up too.
they all do the same thing.

That's like saying that I ought to re-chamber my 7x57 to 280. No thanks I applaud these efforts as the 308 doesn't handle heavy bullets well. Oh, the 308 will shoot heavy bullets but not with enough velocity to make hunting with a heavy bullet 308 viable, and the Mauser action runs out of room with a long bullet in the 30/06. I prefer hunting with a Mauser action.

velocity is like a new car, always losing value.
BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.
