good general purpose air rifle

I want a good air rifle to sit with on my back porch to shoot varmints with. Just looking for a "good tool". Which to buy?

I have one of the chinwerkbau's and it will penetrate approximately 3 inches into wet clay with about 3/4 inch wound channel at the entrance down to .177 shooting at 53 yards. Pellet has shortened to aout 1/2 of the unfired length after impact.

Brown headed cow birds have been know to fall over "junk yard dead" never twitching a muscle under my bird feeder.

RWS/Diana M-34 or 36 and a scope

All you need, shoots better then you can, will last a lifetime. You could spend more, buy a fancier rifle, but it won't really shoot a lot better.
