Just Chronoed my BSA Supersport
I just shot a couple of different pellets through my BSA Supersport over my chronograph. Shooting a Daisy Precision Max pointed lead pellet I got 858 fps and then with the Crosman SSP supersonic pellet I got 1,250 fps. Wow! Makes a crack like a rifle because it is supersonic. Now I'm going to go find a squirrel to introduce that alloy pellet to.

What weight are these Crosman SSP?
It won't be too good if they are super light.
Like 5gr. if your gun is still spring powered, they need more pellet weight to cushion the piston a bit.

Yeah, I wondered about that, could be like dry firing it if they are too light, eh?. I'll weigh them and let you know.

The Crosman SSPs I tried are 3.8gr. But they are not accurate in my Crosman Storm XT, about a 3" pattern at 25yds. The do make the same Sonic Crack that Cane Rat heard.

If anyone wants to try a few, PM me with your address. But, I can see where they might do exactly as The Specialist said and damage a Seal.

very light pellets and springers are a recipe for disaster. they are indeed alike dry firing. that's why if you are going to use felt cleaner pellets( probably not much good anyway), you better put 2 or 3 in the chamber at a time. besides, ultra light pellets generally inaccurate due to their light weight!!

I think I'll stick with the lead pellets. I'm getting over 850fps and they completely penetrate a squirrel's head, can't kill 'em much deader than dead. Thanks everyone.

It's the piston smashing itself into the end of the air chamber, that will wreck the seal and in extreme cases will mushroom the end of the piston.
But if you can find a Pre Charged or CO2 gun to shoot them out of, it should be interesting.
