What is recommended for squirrels?
I need to exterminate some local squirrels.
The average range would be about 30 feet to about 50 ft. As soon as the leaves fall from the post oaks the range might go up a little.

Hi,
It really depends on " How Much " you would like to spend. Go down to the local " Big Five Sporting Goods " & look for the weekly sales, if your just starting out.

Unless you have an " Air Rifle " vendor nearby , with a larger stock of items to look at ?

Sale:$239
reg : $269.99

I've read some good reviews on the above Rifle.

Thanks for the info.
Living in town stinks.
Out in the country 15 minutes with a 22 would take care of the varmits.

Do you prefer Quality and Accuracy with Lethal power out say 50-60 yd. ?. Take a peak at the links .

I would recommend what I choose after having the great fortune of trying 27 air rifles, from a friend

whom also happens to be left handed . AirArms TX200 is what I purchase some years back and I've

NEVER REGRETTED IT !. It's literally a tack driver and that's not figure of speech ,

it's experience speaking . Mine stays inside a dime in calm conditions too around 30 yd. .

AirArms sports Lothar Walther barrels and they just don't come more accurate in a spring gun IMO !.

Well, If your getting rid of a few tree squirrels from your back yard " In TOWN ".. You might not want something toooo loud, & maybe something under " 1000-800 fps ".

Another option would be a " Pump Style ; Benjamin/Sheridan ".

I've been seriously considering getting one for myself.

Real close shots? R7 Beeman, one cock, Very quiet, and accurate. Put a simple 4x using solid airgun mounts, a peep or irons work fine also depending on preference, flat head or round nose will impact better in 177.

If being stealth/quiet is not as big an issue and you want to go past 25 - 35 yds or so, then an R9 Beeman will do it to 60 yds or so, a 177 best on trajectory.

A 20 cal is not out of the question, have one each, 20 really hits hard w/Crosman Premier 14.3 domes. Loopier trajectory past 40-50 yds, but WILL kill to 60-70 when you hit them, as will a 177.
