ar coreyWhich bullet and powder for bullet bore cleaning?
Which bullet is recommended for:
- shoot, clean
- shoot, clean...
- shoot(5X), clean...
I have some H380 sitting around and wondered of the cheapest Hornady SP bullet would work for this.
I only need about 30 bullets.
Steady on mate, the cheap Hornady SP is what I use for accuracy and effect.
Why not use this "event" to work up a load re pressure, and also for accuracy. Then if this barrel conditioning doesen't work/matter, well, no matter.
It then gets back to just how you clean before shots. As I understand it, getting the copper out is the aim, so I just used Sweet's 7.62 (which also moves some powder fouling).
And it didn't take anywhere near 30 shots before the copper stopped appearing. (Well quickly, anyway, because are we ever finished cleaning?)

Me too!
Those 'reject' dinged nose ones shoot pretty good and perform pretty good too.
